Hayabusa 2 tritt nach dem Rückflug vom Asteroiden den Endspurt an.
It's only 100 days before we return to Earth! 🛰🌏 Hayabusa2 is now 50 million km from Earth and it takes ~5.5 mins (round trip) to communicate with the spacecraft. We will continue to modify the trajectory (TCM) to deliver the capsule safely to Woomera, Australia on December 6! pic.twitter.com/x842YUH3iK
At the Hayabusa2 press conference today (Sept. 2), we released a CG video of the Earth return! There is no narration, but you can see the trajectory corrections (TCM) for the spacecraft, attitude control and how the capsule lands. The Hayabusa2 project is considering an extended mission after returning the capsule to Earth. Plans have been narrowed down to 2 possible candidate targets: asteroids 2001 AV43 or 1998 KY26. Both are small & fast spinning objects, which is a type that has not yet been explored. pic.twitter.com/OYpQAyy7ob
